Our story

Our passion for dogs really started in 2001 . At that time, we started to work with different breeders. We participeted in many dog exhibitions, as well as a few obedience and conformation competitions. It is after a few months that we realized that we were really interested in the whole process... but yet we had not found THE BREED for us. Nothing we were seeing in Quebec really caught our attention.

 

It is after meeting a breeder from the United States, Mrs Ulla-Britt Ekengren, that our dream came to life. We communicated for months prior to having the oportunity to get one of her puppies. It is the beautiful Fiona that was the first Ridgeback to come into our lives. With her, we learned what ridgebacks are all about. She has been trained in obedience and in conformation and has been showed a few times. She is an excellent familly dog that is looking for peace inside the house and is explosive when outdoors.

We got Baraka almost a year after Fiona'a arrival. This tiny, cuddly little mischevious puppy tried to show everyone that he was "the king of the hill" at home. Since his arrival, he was only trained in conformation and we are really proud of his accomplishments. He got his Canadian Championship really quickly, his F.C.C. Champion Title with 2 Best in Show Reserve, 1 Best in Show title and The Best of the Best in Shows Title. At the Rhodesian Ridgebacks National Show, he made the cut out of 64 ridgebacks and won Best of opposite sex in the Sweeps out of 25 ridgebacks.

Afrika was our surprise girl since she was not planned. Talking with a breeder from Newfoundland, Mrs Monica Dennis, made us fall in love with Afrika. She came by plane on a very cold November night. Since then she has won the hearts of the whole family, including Baraka and Fiona. She is a very active bitch who loves the outdoors and would play all the time if she could. She is a little shy but she should start her showing carreer in the spring.
